Site Built Homes

A site built home is constructed on the final building site that the home will occupy upon its completion. Modular homes are not classified as stick-built because they are made mostly in the factory and then transported to the site. A custom-designed home and a home made according to stock building plans may both be site-built, provided that they are constructed on the land where they will remain.

What Are Site Built Homes?

  • They are constructed entirely at the building site.
  • They conform to all state, local or regional codes where the house is located.
  • Often called 'stick-built' houses.
  • A well-built, cared for site-built home generally increases in value over time, although its location plays a key role in value.
